My name is Hermina Veldhuijzen
you can call me "Hanneke"
"I was born in the Netherlands, raised in Michigan and have lived in Indianapolis for the last three years after graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2016.
During my freshman year of college in my “Intro to Nursing” class I was required to write a paper called “My Purpose and my Calling.” In this paper I described how God clearly called me into nursing despite strong feelings of anxiety about my career path. In this paper I also divulged my deep desire to work and serve in Zambia after graduating from nursing school.
In the last 4 or 5 years God’s plans for my life have been so evidently unfolding around me. I was able to travel to Zambia as a nursing student in the fall of 2015 and build relationships and learn from so many strong Zambian nurses. In the fall of 2018 I was able to work with Indiana Wesleyan University and serve as their in-country program director for the nursing study abroad semester. In the past year that I have been in the States, I have fervently prayed for direction and God has faithfully provided.
God has given me the opportunity to continue pursuing community in Zimba, Zambia as I work to organize medical supplies and create an inventory system at Zimba Mission Hospital. I am so excited to see the ways God will continue to guide me as I begin this year long project. “
For the foreseeable future I will be working under Come Go With US in Zambia as a liaison for medical teams and assisting in the ministry of this organization with their yearly mission team programs.
