DRUMS!

The Art Club

When the boys reach 15 years, they can join the Art Club.  3 years ago the older boys were called together to learn about "MAN" things.  We talk about life when they reach adulthood; what will they do for a living;  college; general "fix it" skills; electricity; plumbing, etc...  We took several field trips; to the air port and to a saw mill where they were treated to a plant tour where they got to operate the machinery themselves.  They even go to make a cross for the chapel at the orphanage.

The ART CLUB logo.

Part of the Art Club activities was to learn about business, marketing, keeping records, etc.  We talked about branding and the value of a logo to identify your business, organization, club, etc.  The boys decided to design a logo for the Art Club.  3 submissions were voted on.  The final design was taken to town where we had it mounted on some hats that were purchased for the boys.  Here, Lott describes in detail the various intricacies of the design of their new Art Club logo.

Karen loves teaching the children!

Please donate your old readers!

Imagine!  You are a 55 year old man (or woman) in Zambia.  You are one of the fortunate ones who has embraced the Christian life for a long time.  You dealy love to read the Word, but your eye sight began failing you in your 40's.  You can no longer focus on the words...it is impossible to read God's Word.  Imagine that loss...and, then imagine getting a second chance.  Someone on a mission trip saw a need and an opportunity to give a simple gift...a pair of reading glasses that are not available in that land, but are a "dime-a-dozen" here.  What a great gift!!

To provide a "Life Changing" experience for mission teams!

Point #3 in the Global Samaritans mission statement.  Olivia says it so well!

They do such  great work raising these children!

At the Global Samaritan's Children's Home, Christianity is taught from an early age.  Prayer before..anything...is the norm.  Each time they sit down for class, they are asked, "who wants to pray?".  Then, it is usually a fight to see who gets to pray...

In The Highways

Don't for get to count!!!

On this day, our lives changed - forever!

In 2007, we took a mission trip to Zambia.  While we were there, God made a call to us that has forever redirected our lives.  Little did we know on this day that we would be moving FULL TIME to that same place in a very short time.                       "The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Us!"

Suffering Jesus.

Global Samaritans Children's Home does a great job raising the children in a Christian environment.  GSO is like a  spiritual island in a land of witchcraft, animism and spiritual darkness.  These children are being brought up to be a shining example of the "Love of Jesus" to their fellow Zambians.
By the time these children reach their teen years, they are firmly grounded in their Christian walk.  We take mission teams into the bush to minister through teaching, medical assistance, construction, etc.  During evangelism trips, we often show the Jesus Film (the story of Jesus translated in the local language).  The older children usually get to go with with us to translate.  These boys have been inspired by the Jesus Film to write a song depicting the suffering of Jesus Christ.  In the first part of this video, they translate "Suffering Jesus" in English...in the last part, they sing and perform this special musical tribute to our Lord and Savior.
Please pray the we can help disciple these boys to become missionaries in their own land.

A trip into the bush

On a 3 day trip into the bush with missionary Bob Hayton, I learned that the village of Mungaila had been evangelized in the previous year.  The chief who had allowed the ministry to be presented in his unreached territory had died and there was a new chief.  Were we still able to preach?  Were the original new believers still there?  or  Would we be thrown out when we tried to enter Mungaila?
When we got there we were greeted warmly by the 19 believers who immediately asked if they could be baptized.  We had the opportunity to visit the new chief and asked him all these questions - which he graciously granted to us.
It was a great day in Mungaila!
